High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

For a chain food that we know pretty well, it was as we expected, maybe a little better. We are from out of town and needed something familiar and open at that hour. The two-for-one drinks were the proper strength, not just mixer, The pasta and steak were prepared perfectly.

Been to this Applebee's many times and it actually has changed a little bit. This review is based on my most frequent visit last Sunday. Came here on a sunday around 1pm with a family of 6. Greeted and seated right away at an awesome booth. Most booths are stuck to a wall on one side but this one was open on both sides which was awesome space. Place fairly clean. Our waitress was cool. She checked on us at a fair time, remembered our orders and i liked that the manager named Dawn, checked our tables twice and helped in delivering the food. The food? Well i personally think Applebee's have the best spinach artichoke dip but.... their portions have definitely shrinked. Our waitress gave us more chips because we were waiting a little bit longer but she didn't provide more spinach dip. Why??? Regardless, it was still delicious as ever . Their menu definitely offers a lot more healthy options. I wanted to order pasta carbonara but they dont offer it anymore. Sad day at Applebee's for me. So i ordered the Shrimp and broccoli cavatappi which was "finished with parmesan cheese blend and fresh lemon". It looked pretty when i got it. But how does it taste? it was... horrible. I actually thought it was just topped with lemon, not lemon sauce. Lemon was so strong plus there was more broccoli than pasta. I ended up only eating the shrimp. I wish i could've ordered the 3 cheese chicken penne instead. For dessert, we ordered the triple chocolate meltdown a classic we always order, and butter pecan blondie. They never fail. we constantly get it confused with their chocolate meltdown with Chili's molten chocolate cake. Overall, it was okay. They had affordable prices like 2 for $20 menu, okay service, okay food and a really relaxed vibe. This restaurant met all expectations but nothing really above and beyond. They just hit the mark except for that cavatappi, never again... Personally, i like chili's better. But that's just me. Anything to take from my review, the spinach artichoke dip, chocolate cake, and blondie.

Waitress did not welcomed us or said her name, she seemed upset, or happy to be there. Barely looked at us or followed up because our food took 37 minutes to arrived, dinning room was less than 30% full. My sandwich was cold & fries were salty. Fajitas were not bad but had more black pepper than expected. This quick meal took over one hour. Not great service but it's Applebee's, so it's not surprising.

This is my second review on Applebee's as I've been back a few times. Overall this Applebee's gives you good food at a fair price. The menu has improved quite a bit and there are several very good low cal options in addition to the many, many really good comfort food options. I frequently wish I was not watching my weight when coming here because some of the higher calorie entrees look really good. Unlike my last review I've found this location to get quite busy during normal food hours (dinner and lunch) and I found the food and service very consistent with a few small exceptions. The best part about Applebee's is that they are open late and serve a full menu till 2am on weekends. They also have "half price apps" after 9pm, which makes it a pretty cool place to grab a bite after a night out. Overall I really like this place now and will come back frequently. 4 Stars.

The other night, my boyfriend and I decided to go out to Applebee's. I had never been to Applebee's before, so I decided to give it a shot... Our server, Isabelle, was terrible. She had no personality. I ordered a burger and my boyfriend ordered a steak. Food comes out about 20 minutes later... First thing we noticed was the size of the steak .. there was no way that thing weighed as much as it was advertised to weigh. We waited for Isabelle to come check on us so we could ask if it was the correct steak, but she never came until we were done with our meal. My boyfriend ate the steak regardless, but was not filled up by it. My burger wasn't awful, but I could not find the stomach to eat more than half of it... it had a weird taste to it. When we stopped eating, Isabelle handed us our check and we saw that she had, in fact, rang in the incorrect steak. But whatever, this one was cheaper anyways and we did not want to spend as much money as we did on a dinner that we left still hungry. Never going to Applebee's again.. terrible first experience.

Ate at this Applebee's while at home for winter break. This Applebee's, more than others I've seen, seems to be trying especially hard to be a sports bar. I noticed a lot more TVs and a more palpable bar atmosphere than the other franchises I've been in. Considering this is a chain, food is standard no matter what location you go to. I had the lunch combo with Chinese chicken salad and a chicken fajita wrap. I really enjoyed the oriental dressing for the Chinese chicken salad, it was creamy without being too thick or heavy and complemented the veggies and sliced almonds nicely. The portion was bigger than I expected, and you can't beat the price - $7.99 is cheaper than some fast food joints nowadays. Service was so-so: despite our location right next to the bar and the restaurant not being busy, our sever seemed to forget about us a lot. It was difficult to get anything from water to a take-out box for our leftovers. Lame. Since I normally avoid chains like the plague, Applebee's will never be a favorite of mine, but it works in a pinch!

Walked in at 4:50. Sat at bar. No bartender in sight, noticed 3 other people that were sitting and had not been served yet. Bar was also filthy so I left. One of the 4 employees mingling and chatting by front door opened it for me so at least that part was nice. *Sarcasm*

I had a 25 dollar gift card for Applebees burning a hole in my pocket so I had to go. Great Family Restaurant plus good drink and food deals. This restaurant has morphed into a sports bar/restaurant. Lots of TVs and they even play the sound to the games. The place is clean and the staff are always very friendly. I placed an order to go and had a couple of cold Brewtus Beers while I was waiting. I ordered, Hot Boneless Chicken Wings App, a Cowboy Burger with Fries with cheese added on top, and Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas. My food came out within 20 minutes. While sitting at the bar, I enjoyed watching these young dudes drink shots that made my skin crawl. Something with wild turkey, southern comfort, jagger, and some other $hit. The guys were the real deal. Sitting at the bar is a cool place to be and a nice place to people watch too. My food rolled out and was double checked by the bartender and I was gone. All the food was franchise good, if you know what I mean. My son liked the cheese burger and the Fajitas tasted good, but I'm sure they would have been better if I ate them at the restaurant which is a no brainer statement...lol. I will be back for sure. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

Average food. You get what you pay for.

Food is great! My waitress though was horible.. She checked on us once throughout the whole night... Her name is Sara btw.. After ordering food she forgot one of the plates so we were waiting for her.. When she finally comes to us we ask about our missing plate & she says she cancelled it because she had forgotten it.. We were very upset with her. When we split the check to pay i paid cash & she kept the change without asking. So i left no tip. Horrible service from Sara B.
(3)JACOB B.
Good spot to take the grandchildren. The menu is vast and affordable. Applebee's is becoming one of my favorite chain restaurants, particularly when UR taking out a lot of kids with variable quirky palates. There is something for everyone &the food quality is very acceptable.
(3)Logan L.
I am coming here from years and this place is still as good ad I remember it. I got breakfast at like 1 pm and it was great. I always get their m special with the corn beef hash. It was very filling. I'd definitely come here when I'm craving American breakfast. Price is good as well. No complaints. Life is good. Play ball.
(5)M D.
The manager was super nice and helpful. The food was okay. Great French onion soup but the kindness of the night manager really made the meal for us. Thank you.
(3)Isaiah S.
Ate here after volunteering as a JROTC greeter during Veteran's Day. The Food, as usual, is more than stellar, and the service is well above average. I enjoyed my time there and will most assuredly be coming back.
(5)Mitchell F.
Sadly enough, I wish I wasn't a regular. The food at Applebee's seems like it was taken from a five-star restaurant, dropped on the floor, family-ized, then twenty minutes later, it's sitting in front of you. The menu is TOO big. It seems like they are cramming eight-hundred things in front of your palate. Frankly, the food is too dehydrated and bland for my taste. If the food wasn't bad enough, the service is terrible. As previously mentioned, it may take upwards of twenty minutes to get a hamburger at an oft time. The décor looks like someone took a 70's dive bar and crammed booths into it. On the complete contrary, the frozen strawberry lemonade and the manager are the only good things about this place.
(2)Adam S.
went here the other day with some family members one of which needed to be in a high chair. the first put us at a booth that had a step to get inro it but was not good for my son cuz the highchair couldn't be able to be put close enough to the table for him to reach, so we asked to be moved which they moved us to a table which was much better. the waitress was nice. The food was ok but i had to send mine back because it was way undercooked which is something i rarely do cuz i hate to send food back but just couln't eat my burger raw when i had ordered it medium well. What makes it worse is the burger i ordered comes cut in half so they should of seen it wasn't cooked the way i ordered it by the time i got it back others were almost done, but like i said the food was ok.
(2)Daisy R.
So searching for a place for dinner on Mother's Day all our first choices had long lines and upon further checking, Outback...1 1/2 hour wait, Carrabbas's...1 1/2 hour wait, Red Lobster...1 hour wait, Olive Garden...1 hour wait. Applebee's in Coral Springs, not a lot of people waiting outside, 15 minute wait...ok, reasonable, Applebee's it is! When entering, the first thing I notice is that the place looks run down and has a funky, musty smell. We're seated within 20 minutes, not bad. Once we're seated...very disappointed, service is slow, waiter not looking all that into it. Food is not great, tastes kinda like everything has been reheated or microwaved, portions kind of skimpy too. When we're done and the manager happens to pass by our table, she asks how was everything, none of us look overly happy, I told her it was ok. She says "just ok, well you all have a good night". Huh? Really? You're not interested in knowing why a paying customer tells you their table thinks everything was just ok? Maybe that's why everything is just ok and why there wasn't a long line and wait time to get in. Next time we'll just head out a little earlier or wait the 1 1/2 for places that care. SMH.

Can't go wrong here...even have the weight watchers menu...which by the way is not bad
(4)Jacob L.
Great food reasonable prices....there steaks are awsome.....I get the two for twenty meal deal.....but I upsize my steak......everything I eat there is good..no complaint..
(4)Janette R.
Love their food and drinks. Great Services. good atmosphere, TV games. I love them
(5)John H.
Usually poor service, I gave up on this place...... the food just plain sucks.
(2)Patricia C.
Went on a weekday so it was not crowded. The food was good and the prices are reasonable. Take advantage of the beer specials. My partner and I each had a steak and they mixed up how they were to be cooked. We just switched them but the waitress was more than happy to take them both back. This is a typical Applebee's but nice place, good food. I recommend this place.
